Luke 24:52 – And they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy
Luke 24:45-53 – As you read the scripture ask the Holy Spirit to highlight things in the passage. Here are three that stood out to us.
1. Jesus opened their minds to the scriptures
2. Jesus commissions us to tell the whole world of his love and restoration of all things
3. Our Father’s promises are fulfilled – Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to clothe us with power, courage and strength
Luke 24:5b,6a – “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here but has risen.

The goal of discipling others is that they develop an authentic relationship with Jesus and outwork their faith. As you prepare to minister to your kids, consider how you can incorporate key elements that develop faith and service: knowing the Word, hearing His voice, prayer, worship and personal response.
Asking essential questions:
Kids can readily learn facts from a story, but they need help to connect those facts to understanding of the bigger picture. Together explore how the story connects to our understanding of God’s nature, His relationship with us and how we live in response to this understanding.
What did you learn about God/Jesus/Holy Spirit? What did you learn about God’s desire for His children? How can you live in response?

Bible If you don’t have a story book bible for young children to follow, you can access story images from http://www.freebibleimages.org/ Videos from https://bibleproject.com/all-videos/ or use YouTube to access Superbook or search specific bible stories and there are several Bible Apps for kids.
Music Seeds Family Worship or Roots Kids Worship are great for learning scripture. For little ones try searching ‘bible songs for kids’.
Prayer Try using a prayer starter from the following page (you can choose a series of starters to create a more complete prayer i.e. Praise, Repent, Ask, Yield. For pre-schoolers, invite them to repeat after you.
Hearing God Take time with kids and guide them in asking God questions, soaking in His presence, sharing and recording dreams, pictures and words.
Activation Nothing we gain from God is just for us; freely we receive so that we can freely give.
Guide your kids to think about how they can share what they have received i.e. how could they tell what they have learned to someone younger than them, who could they serve/bless, who can they be praying for, how can they show God’s nature to others through their own actions.
Be Creative Kids rarely want to sit down and be taught a lesson. There are so many online ideas for activities, crafts, games, skits etc. that you can use to draw children into conversation such as https://missionbibleclass.org/ or simply go for a walk away from distraction, appreciating creation and using the time to ask questions. There are also many podcasts with engaging stories linked to biblical lessons; Into the Portal, Kids Corner, Faith in Kids.
And ALWAYS, you can contact Shelley or any of the team for resources, tips, support, and ideas. We would be beyond delighted to share and support you in ministering to your kids!
